Walt Disney World Fridges: What You Need To Know

penny9121

One of the ways I keep my Disney vacation costing the least amount of money possible is by packing or ordering food for our hotel room.

Groceries delivered to bell services for me to pick up.

What I need to tell you is not all fridges at WDW are created equal. Most of the units meant to keep your food cold are beverage coolers. They only go down to 41° which is not safe to store dairy & perishables.

So what do you do if you want a fridge that will safely keep perishable foods cold?

First you can choose a villa as the resort you stay. Deluxe Studios will have a true mini fridge.

One bedroom (and up) villas will have a full size fridge. (As well as a kitchen stove to expand your food choices)

What about if a deluxe villa is out of your price range. You have another option. Family suites at All Star Music Resort also have a full size fridge. Unfortunately these suites are limited and availability runs out quickly.

So what can I do if I can't swing a deluxe resort and All Star Music is not available?

Here are a few tips to get the most ouf of your beverage cooler and keep your foods as cold as possible.

Bring ziploc bags to put ice in and place them in your beverage cooler. Remember to empty the water and refill with ice. 🙂

Place your drinks in the sink. Save the space in your beverage cooler for perishable items.

Lastly use a cooler bag to pack some of the stuff you are bringing or if driving your road trip foods.

You now have an extra place to keep things cold.

I hope this has brought awareness to one of the things you have to take into consideration when planning your WDW vacation!

I'm here to help before, during, and after your trip!
